A student at the University of North Texas, Kelly Dillard divides her time between community service and her academic pursuits. Over the years, Kelly Dillard has competed in a number of pageants within the Miss Texas program, earning such titles as Miss Teen Rowlett and Miss Fort Worth Outstanding Teen.
Every year, hundreds of young women participate in local pageants across Texas. Part of the Miss Texas Pageant program, these competitions serve as qualifying events for the culminating Miss Texas event in Fort Worth. Since 1936, this organization has provided young women with a platform for sharing their viewpoints, talents, and achievements. Today, the statewide competition also promotes education by offering an array of scholarships. Although the largest monetary award traditionally goes to the winner of the Miss Texas Pageant, officials also bestow additional prizes to women who demonstrate exceptional talent, fitness, and academic achievement.
The 2013 Miss Texas Pageant will begin on June 29 and end on July 6. The main competition will feature 55 women, and 52 Contestants will appear in the Miss Texas Outstanding Teen event.
